A mother who allegedly killed her seven-year-old daughter has been charged wth premeditated murder after being discharged from hospital Friday afternoon.
Seven-year-old Daniela Cea-Campo was killed in her home on Leo Gravelle Ave. in Vaudreuil-Dorion on Thursday night at about 9:30 p.m.
Her mother, named Claudia, attacked her daughter and then inflicted multiple wounds to herself according to allegations from police spokesman Sgt. Ronald McInnis.
The little girl was transported by ambulance in critical condition but she died on route to the hospital. Her mother was hospitalized but released from hospital Friday afternoon and was soon after charged via videoconference.
The child's father Roberto Cea-Campo was also transported to the hospital Thursday night to be treated for a nervous shock. It's unclear whether he was at home at the time of the fatal attack on his daughter.
Sgt. McInnis said they don't know yet what triggered the apparent attempted murder-suicide. A command post was set up outside the house as their investigation continued Friday.
