One of the two boys accused of murder in the February killings of three people in Trois Rivieres entered guilty pleas in court Monday.

The boy, who was 16 years old at the time, pleaded guilty to the pre-meditated murder of a 17-year-old girl, as well as the girl's 17-year-old boyfriend and 22-year-old older sister.

He also pleaded guilty to three counts of conspiracy to kill the girls’ mother and two police officers.

The victims cannot be identified because the accused are minors.

The accused will be back in court in October for sentencing.

Another 17-year-old boy facing the same charges is expected in court for his preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

He has asked to undergo a trial by judge and jury.

Trois Rivieres police said shortly after the tragedy that heartbreak was the motive for the murders.
