HEAT WAVE | Here's how you can identify heat stroke and prevent serious symptoms

Some communities in Quebec are expected to get record-high temperatures and Environment Canada has issued several weather warnings and watches for heat. Dr. Christopher Labos spoke to CTV News anchor Mutsumi Takahashi about heat and sunstroke and tips for preventing serious consequences in the sun.

'The private sector is generally more efficient than the state,' says Quebec Energy Minister

When asked to clarify his position on the involvement of private enterprise in the construction of dams, Premier François Legault said on Wednesday that his government 'has nothing against the private sector.' He was responding to Quebec Solidaire (QS)'s demand for transparency, after Energy Minister Pierre Fitzgibbon had expressed an openness to the construction of hydroelectric facilities by private enterprise.

QS wants to add 'anti-private shield' to Quebec's health reform bill

Among the many concerns levelled at the reform, critics fear the Coalition avenir Quebec (CAQ) government wants to accelerate the privatization of healthcare to the detriment of the public system. Quebec solidaire (QS) is proposing three amendments described as an 'anti-private shield.'

Quebec man, 87, charged in 1980s child sex assaults

An 87-year-old Quebec man has been charged with multiple sexual assaults, 30 years later. Maurice Julien is accused of sexually abusing boys between 1986 and 1989 while involved in a "youth movement" in L'Islet, a riverside town about 100 kilometres northeast of Quebec City.

3 arrests in fatal Christmas Eve shooting of teen: Montreal

Three suspects were arrested Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man in the Town of Mount Royal (TMR) two years ago. Two suspects, both 20-year-old men, will appear in court Wednesday to face charges of second-degree murder. A 20-year-old woman was also apprehended and is expected to be charged with accessory to murder.
