Engineers, veterinarians and scientists working for the city of Montreal have worked out an agreement in principle with the city.

The 440 employees walked off the job for several days last week to protest not having a contract for five years, and for the city demanding multiple concessions in negotiations.

The SPSPEM agreed to return to work as long as negotiations took place.

Union executives said they reached a deal late Thursday night, and they will present the proposed contract to their members next week.
