Longueuil police are stepping up the hunt for a sexual predator who has been attacking women for the past three years.

Police believe one man has been attacking and sexually assaulting women on the South Shore since 2010, with the most recent attack happening two months ago.

At 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, an 18-year-old woman was walking on a bicycle path near Rome and Milan Blvds. when a man holding a handgun confronted her.

He grabbed her and sexually assaulted her before leaving.

Police believe he is the same man who has assaulted about ten people in a similar manner since 2010.

They have a computer-assisted sketch of the suspect, who is described as a white man in his 30s, about 1.8 to 1.83 m tall and weighing 77 to 80kg (5'11" to 6' tall, 170-175lbs). He has brown hair and speaks English and French.

This Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Longueuil police will operate a command post on Panama Ave. near Taschereau Blvd. where officers will distribute flyers with the suspect's description, and offer people advice on personal safety.

Anyone who believes they know who the suspect, or has more information about the sexual assaults, is asked to call police at 450-463-7211.
