Rob Lurie
ContactRob Lurie studied business in school but fell in love with the media while listening to overnight talk radio shows. He quit his job selling investments at a bank and in 1993 began working as a traffic reporter before moving on to host talk shows at CIQC and CJAD radio. In 1997, Lurie made the switch to TV to join CTV.
During his time in the media, Lurie has covered some of the biggest stories to hit Montreal including the 1995 referendum, the ice storm, the biker wars, several high profile court cases and several elections. He's also covered several world leaders as they visited Montreal, including former U.S. presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter; Poland's Lech Walesa, and Israel's Ehud Barak. In 2008, Lurie won the prestigious RTDNA award for central Canada for his election series "Campaign Trail."
A native of Montreal, Lurie has studied at Dawson College, Concordia University and McGill University. In his free time he enjoys boating, hiking and hanging out in the country. Lurie is a fitness buff, avid outdoorsman and bad tennis player.
