Helen Fotopulos has decided she will run again in Montreal's municpal elections.
This November she will run for a council seat in Cote Des Neiges, still as a member of Mayor Gerald Tremblay's Union Montreal party.
Fotopulos is currently the Plateau Mont-Royal borough mayor, a position she has held for two terms of office, but on June 1 she announced she would step down and let Michel Labrecque run for that position.
"Part of my reflection was that I thought Michel Labrecque had a valuable contribution to make to the city that could make his decision to stay on," said Fotopulos.
Fotopulos recently came under scrutiny after it was revealed she spent an evening watching a Montreal Canadiens game at the Bell Centre courtesy of CIMA+, an engineering firm that has had a number of contracts with the city.
Fotopulos lives in Cote Des Neiges, and says that she has campaigned in the area many times.
Her nomination as a candidate should be confirmed on Monday.
