Mayor Gerald Tremblay announced changes Monday to the executive committee of the City of Montreal.

Tremblay said at a press conference the new line up is geared to helping the city weather the economic storm.

There were three vacancies and a fourth person who won't be returning on the 12-member executive committee. There will be eight associate councilors.

The three vacancies are Benoit Labonte, Frank Zampino and Francine Senecal.

Mary Andree Beaudoin, the mayor of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, says she will not be running for mayor again next time, and has asked to be replaced on the executive committee.

The new 12-person council is as follows:

Claude Dauphin

Mayor of Lachine.

Executive Committee responsibilities: President; head of the Montreal 2025 Committee; public security; human capital; governmental and para-municipal affairs.

Andre Lavallee

Mayor of Rosemont-Petit-Patrie.

Executive Committee responsibilities: Co-vice-president; transportation plan; urban planning; taxi office; Stationnement Montreal; Office of Public Consultations; patrimony and design.

Sammy Forcillo

Councillor in the Ville Marie Borough, responsible for the Saint-Marie-Saint-Jacques area.

Executive Committee responsibilities: Co-vice-president; finances; taxation; land valuation; large-scale building projects started in 2001.

* Catherine Sevigny

Councillor in the Ville Marie borough, responsible for the Peter-McGill area.

Executive Committee responsibilities: culture.

Marcel Tremblay

Councillor for Cote-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-des-Grace, responsible for the NDG district. Executive Committee responsibilities: cultural communities; Parc Jean Drapeau; Co-ordination of special events such as the 375th anniversary of Montreal in 2017.

Luis Miranda

Mayor of Anjou.

Executive Committee responsibilities: citizen services; 3-1-1; economic development; committee of elected representatives from Montreal east and of Montreal International.

Alan DeSousa

Mayor of Saint-Laurent.

Executive Committee responsibilities: sustainable development and the environment; ecoterritories.

Helen Fotopulos

Mayor of the Plateau-Mont-Royal.

Executive Committee responsibilities: work initiated on Mount Royal; nature parks and museums; and women's issues.

Councillor in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension, responsible for the Parc-Extension area.

Executive Committee responsibilities: social and community development; family.

M. Cosmo Maciocia

Mayor of Rivi�re-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles.

Executive Committee responsibilities: direction of the completion of 15,000 housing units.

Michael Applebaum

Mayor of Cote-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-des-Grace.

Executive Committee responsibilities: sports and leisure.

Gerald Tremblay

Mayor of Montreal

Executive Committee responsibilities: democratic advancement at city hall; youth; branding; downtown and international relations.
