OTTAWA--A small earthquake rattled a section of eastern Quebec overnight.
Natural Resources Canada says the magnitude 4.2 quake hit just before 3 a.m. Eastern time just east of Matane, Que., on the Gaspe peninsula.
Spokesperson Catherine Woodgold says there are no reports of damage and none is expected because of the relatively small size of the quake.
Matane is about 80 kilometres east of Rimouski.
