Montreal police are piecing together information regarding two overnight shootings.

The first incident occured around 9 p.m. Tuesday, when a 41-year-old man was shot while sitting in his car on the corner of Bercy St. and Ontario St.

He is expected to survive but so far is not telling police much about what happened. Police believe the shooting was a dispute between gangs.

The second shooting occurred just after midnight Wednesday, when an 18-year-old man was shot on a residential property on Charland Ave. near Sackville St.

Police said the victim was in a backyard when he was shot in the lower body.

A friend rushed the man to hospital where he underwent surgery. He is expected to recover.

Police said this man is also not answering questions about what happened.
