St. Patrick’s Day is still a month away, but the festivities have already begun.

The queen and her court were selected Saturday night for the St. Patricks’ Parade.

18-year-old Mary-Lynee Loftus was crowned Queen at the 62nd annual Queen Selection Evening, hosted by the United Irish Societies of Montreal.

Montreal mayor Denis Coderre will be the grand marshall this year and was on hand to receive his sash.

This year the parade will be held on Sunday, March 19th.

Now in its 194th year, the Montreal St. Patrick’s Parade has run consecutively since 1824 and has been organized by the United Irish Societies of Montreal since 1929.
