Police are investigating the murder of a man whose body was discovered in a parked car on a residential street in Brossard.

Passersby spotted a man sitting in a car on Beaujolais St. around 11 a.m. The man was seriously injured and died police quickly confirmed the death.

They say a 41-year-old man was shot several times.

Sources have identified the victim as Terek Ibrahim. He was arrested in 2013 for extortion, forcible confinement and kidnapping.

A neighbour said residents of the street are in shock.

Ibrahim and his wife have three young children and moved to the street to be closer to her parents.

The investigation into his death has been transferred to the Surete du Quebec.
