The suspect of a fatal stabbing in a Lachine apartment is facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder.

Philippe Gloutney, 42, appeared in Quebec Court Monday afternoon to face the charges.

Gloutney is accused of stabbing a 38-year-old man to death early Saturday morning.

A 55-year-old woman was also injured in the incident, which took place in an apartment on Sherbrooke St. near 14th Ave. Her life is not in danger.

The trio were apparently drunk and it was an incident of domestic violence, police say.

Police arrested the suspect upon arriving at the scene. He also sustained minor injuries.
