LAVAL - The mayor of Laval is once again denying allegations that he offered envelopes stuffed with cash to two politicians.
Gilles Vaillancourt spoke to reporters Tuesday night before the first Laval council meeting since the allegations were made.
Vaillancourt says his lawyers have sent cease and desist letters to PQ MNA-turned-Bloc MP Serge Menard and Quebec Liberal MNA Vincent Auclair.
He is also demanding the pair retract their statements.
He says the last few weeks have been difficult, but Vaillancourt says politics is a job that can be very cruel.
