It's April 1st. Is your car legally parked?

Despite the snowfall in the forecast for this weekend there will be no delay in implementing seasonal street parking regulations.

Starting today, April 1, drivers in Montreal have to once again start paying attention to street signs indicating whether or not they are legally parked on a residential street.

On many streets parking is denied for an hour or two each week, ostensibly for street-cleaning operations and other maintenance that can be scheduled in advance.

Not every borough implements parking changes on April 1; in LaSalle, parking regulations come into effect on April 15.

City officials have said often drivers can still be fined if they park in a time-limited area after a street sweeper has gone by.
