Interesting selections for the second-last game of the pre-season as Jacques Martin still has some players to look at, it seems.

On defence, Alexandre Picard and Alex Henry get yet another look.

At forward, Ryan White plays another game, more than any other player at camp. He is close to making the team on talent, but because of a two-way contract will likely be sent down for financial reasons.

Also getting another look is Ben Maxwell, who has quietly had a good camp.

Lars Eller gets another game. He has had a busy camp as well. Eller had three assists in his last effort.

Eller doesn't impress me that much. I don't think he had much to do with those three helpers. I don't see him as a top six forward as a good few of my peers have suggested. He does get a first chance at his natural centre position against the Sabres, so perhaps he will be more comfortable there.

Benoit Pouliot gets another start and he needs to do something with it. It has not been a stellar camp coming off a poor playoff. Pouliot is at a crossroads and he needs to get serious soon or his great talent isn't going to make a difference if he's playing on the half wall all night.

In net, it is Alex Auld against the Sabres and no doubt Carey Price Saturday in the final pre-season game in Quebec City against the Isles.
