The police squad investigating alleged fraud in Quebec's construction industry will have a number of new members from big-city police forces.
Eight detectives from Montreal, Laval and Longueuil police will join provincial investigators and the RCMP on Operation Hammer.
The squad was created last month following a litany of reports of fraud, collusion and price-fixing in the construction industry.
The additions would boost the squad to 50 members.
Operation Hammer also includes prosecutors as well as staff from the Quebec building authority, the Regie du batiment.
Anyone with information on possible fraud in the construction industry can call a confidential hotline: 1-888-444-1701.
