The head of the Concordia Student Union offers her take on the tuition protests and how they have been handled.

Lex Gill is in an odd situation in that she is opposed to the tuition hikes, but has to represent students who do not object to the fee increase. She feels the violence and vandalism that has occurred over the past three months is largely the fault of the government.

"I think tensions have escalated largely due to the [education] minister's refusal to negotiate," said Gill.
