QUEBEC CITY - Quebec's National Assembly reconvened Tuesday and the two main parties quickly revealed clues about their strategies for the upcoming session.
Judging by the words of House Leader Jean-Marc Fournier, the Liberals would like to see a kinder, gentler Parti Quebecois.
"I think the thing that is important for Madame Marois and the PQ to accept that they've got a role in democracy. Their role is not a demolition derby," he says.
Meanwhile the opposition PQ promises to attack the Liberals on the ongoing corruption scandals and launch pointed questions about the Liberals' intentions concerning the extraction of shale gas.
"Every day that this parliament will sit, we will come back with this request for a moratorium on shale gas," says Scott McKay of the PQ.
The session might not last as long as normal, as Premier Charest has previously announced that he plans to prorogue the session before the end of February and return with a new agenda focusing on the economy.
