Jurors at the terrorism trial of two former students at Collège de Maisonneuve in Montreal have still not agreed on a verdict, although they have posed a question.

Monday marks the fourth day of deliberations in the trial of El Mahdi Jamali, 20, and Sabrine Djermane, 21.

In the morning the jury sent a question to the judge which was answered in the afternoon: was the recipe to make a bomb itself an ingredient in a bomb?

The judge said that no, the instructions for making a bomb were not considered bomb-making material, but that the instructions could be pertinent in determining the reasons for possessing the materials.

The couple has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempting to leave Canada for the purpose of committing a terrorist act abroad, possessing an explosive substance for a dangerous purpose and committing an act under the direction of a terrorist group.

The Crown alleges that they wanted to go to Syria to join ISIS.

A fourth charge of facilitating a terrorist act was dropped during the trial.
