Another day, another poll showing the NDP is far and away the most popular party in Quebec

Forum Research conducted its telephone poll from Aug. 17 to 19, and it shows support for the NDP is growing across the country.

The poll sampled 373 people in Quebec.

  • NDP: 38%
  • Conservative: 15%
  • Liberal: 22%
  • Bloc Quebecois:16%
  • Green:4%
  • Undecided: 5%

The margin of error for a sample of this size is 5%.

This shows the same trend being spotted by two other polls this week, namely the decline of Bloc Quebecois support in favour of the NDP.

One difference with the Forum poll, however, is stronger support for the Conservative party than has been indicated in other polls, although it is at the threshold of the margin of error.

When asked which party people would never vote for, the Conservative party topped the list throughout the country and in Quebec.

45 percent of Canadians said they would never vote Conservative, and 42 percent of Quebecers felt the same way.

28 percent of Quebecers said they would never choose the Bloc Quebecois, while 10 and 6 percent said they would never vote for the Liberal nor NDP parties respectively.

Even if they don't plan to vote NDP, many Quebecers expect that Tom Mulcair will be the next prime minister.

'Which party do you expect to win the federal election?'

  • Conservative: 18%
  • Liberal; 15%
  • NDP: 48%
