QUEBEC - The fragmentation of Quebec's sovereigntist movement is continuing apace with a former Parti Quebecois member announcing the creation of yet another political party.
One-time finance critic Jean-Martin Aussant says there aren't enough options for voters who want Quebec independence.
He hopes to call the party "Option nationale," although the name still needs to be approved by Quebec's head of elections.
Aussant, who was a financial executive before entering politics, is calling for the nationalization of Quebec's natural resources.
The new party is distinct from another sovereigntist grouping that formed recently to criticize the PQ and its leader, Pauline Marois.
It is also separate from the Coalition for Quebec's Future, a non-sovereigntist group headed by former PQ cabinet minister Francois Legault that many speculate will seek official party status in the near future.
