The English Montreal school board is live on the web in an effort to make board meetings more transparent.

The move is already getting the thumbs-up from one parent.

Ann Wade, who watched a webcast on Wednesday evening, says online meetings will encourage more parents to get involved.

"You know it's not always easy to get out to the meetings," she told CTV News.

"I live quite close to the board and even that's difficult to manage some months.

"So this is an excellent way to keep yourself informed about school board matters."
