The Surete du Quebec has arrested one of its own for alleged possession of child pornography.
Police arrested SQ officer Francois Blouin of Sherbrooke on Tuesday and he was arraigned in a telephone conference with a judge.
The SQ says it searched Blouin's home and found a substantial amount of data that will be analyzed by officers.
Another police force tipped off the SQ to the alleged child pornography case.
Blouin, who has served with the SQ for two decades, is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
