Emergency crews rushed to a daycare in St. Leonard Thursday morning after part of a roof collapsed.

Construction workers were working on the Collerette St. building when a crane delivering material dropped a load of shingles.

The loaded pallet smashed through the roof and the attic and into the building itself.

Nobody was hurt, but the crane operator had a nervous shock and was treated by Urgences Santé.

Children were evacuated from the section that was damaged and will stay on the other side of the building until the damage is cleaned up.
