NEW YORK - Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban has been fined $3,000 for diving.

It's the not the first time this season Subban has had to dip into his pocket for embellishing.

He also had to pay up in January after incurring two warnings for diving. The fine was $2,000.

A third citation over an incident on March 12 against the Senators triggered another fine.

The league says it cites players on the rule once its Hockey Operations department decides a player warrants sanction.

If he gets another warning this season, he will be fined an additional $4,000 and Habs head coach Michel Therrien will have also have to pay a $2,000 penalty.

The maximum amount a player can be fined for diving is $5,000.
