The ongoing work on the Jacques Cartier Bridge will force the closure of a section of René Levesque Blvd. for six nights the week of Oct. 2.

René Levesque East will be closed to all traffic between De Lorimier Ave., and Dorion St. between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., from Sunday night until Saturday morning.

Drivers will have to detour via De Maisonneuve Blvd. or the 720, but through traffic on Papineau Ave. or De Lorimier will not be affected.

René Levesque West is supposed to remain open.

If the weather is poor the work will be delayed.

Crews are going to install support platforms that will be used by crews doing major work on the steel structure of the bridge.

In the meantime the access from the Jacques Cartier to Park Jean Drapeau will be closed overnight Monday and Friday. Crews will be repairing concrete under the bridge deck.
