Montreal police spent Sunday night helping the victim of a home invasion.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday the victim heard someone knocking on the back door of his third-floor apartment. When he went to see what was going on four men, some armed with handguns, burst inside.

They struck the victim in the leg and then ransacked the apartment, leaving with several items.

Police spent the night at the apartment looking for clues about the robbers.

So far officers only have a vague description of four black men in their early twenties, all of whom spoke French.

The victim was not seriously hurt.
