Thousands of underprivileged children were treated to a dose of true Christmas spirit today, as the Welcome Hall mission put on a festive party.
It's a much appreciated event: In Montreal 26 per cent of children live below the poverty line and number is on the increase.
The mission and its more than 100 volunteers sought to put a smile on some young faces by bringing them a little holiday cheer.
Some 2,500 underprivileged children received 10,000 presents at the Welcome Hall mission's Christmas party, an annual tradition for 20 years.
