Police say a man whose body was found on the side of Highway 13 in Laval was kidnapped earlier in the day.

Around 11:30 a.m. people called 9-1-1 to report the man lying on Highway 13 near Highway 440.

When emergency officials arrived, they found the badly injured body of 35-year-old Kellen Seow.

SQ officer Joyce Kemp said Tuesday afternoon that police did not know "was the person hit by a car, or did the person fall from a car? At this point it's too early to say."

Around 3 p.m. police confirmed that Seow had been kidnapped at 11 a.m. from outside a Tutti Frutti restaurant about 3 km away, near the intersection of de la Lavetere St. and Notre-Dame Blvd.

Police said the kidnapping was apparently tied to drug trafficking.

All lanes of Highway 13 North were closed between Highway 640 and 440 until 4:10 p.m., although at that point traffic was backed up for several kilometres.
