The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Phillip Danault to a two-year contract extension.

Danault appeared in 21 games with the Canadiens last season after coming over from Chicago in a trade. He scored three goals and added two assists for the Canadiens.

The Victoriaville, Que., native, has four goals and six assists over 53 career NHL games with Chicago and Montreal.

He was drafted by the Blackhawks with the 26th overall selection in 2011.
