A man was shot and killed overnight in Laval.

Police discovered the body around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when they were asked to investigate a parked car that had its headlights on.

Officers arrived at 100th Ave. near Dutrisac, in the Chomedey area, to find a man lying on the ground about 50 metres from a parked Mercedes.

He had been shot in the upper body at least once. When a doctor and paramedics arrived they went to help, but the man was already dead.

Police are now trying to discover why the victim, 32 years old, would have been attacked.

Officers spent the night talking to the parents and the girlfriend of the victim, and on Wednesday hope to discover witnesses who saw the shooting or anything related to the murder.
