A 54-year-old man is in serious but stable condition Wednesday morning after being attacked by several men during a home invasion.
Around 2 a.m. the attackers -- their exact numbers unknown -- broke into a home on Place Elie Beauregard in Riviere des Prairies.
They hit the man repeatedly with a blunt object and then fled the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital where he was last reported as being in serious but stable condition.
Police were quick to arrive at the scene of the attack and used search dogs to try and track the aggressors, but have not yet been successful.
Officers did discover a marijuana growing operation during their search.
Police cordoned off a large area Wednesday morning to continue their investigation.
