Though they never met her, Chantal Morin and Anita Fleury have vowed to continue the search for a woman who has been missing for three years.

Two women from Ste. Hyacinthe set up a committee to find Diane Gregoire, and though they doubt she's still alive, they won't rest until her body is found.

"We're about the same age, and we look alike," said Morin. "I've even had people tap me on the shoulder and ask me if I'm her."

"It's like I've known her a long time," she said.

Diane Gregoire was 51 years old when her husband last saw her on the cold morning of Jan. 31, 2008.

He told police Gregoire stayed inside their van in the parking lot Promenades St. Bruno while he went inside to eat breakfast.

When he returned to the van, he assumed she'd gone shopping and reported her missing that evening.

The well-liked woman from Ste. Hyacinthe, who lost a young son to suicide just a year earlier, remains missing.

"We have lots of theories, but we can't talk about them," said Fleury.

In the past three years, Longueuil police have received about 300 tips, including 57 in the past year.

The committee's website receives hundreds of hits every month, said the women.

"There's not a week that goes by that we don't have someone asking us about her – still," said Morin

Anyone with information is asked to call Longueuil police at 450-463-7211, or Info-Crime at 1-800-711-1800, or the search committee at 450-513-3360.
