MONTREAL - The Reseau de Resistance du Quebecois are delusional, hardline, hardcore separatists, who view themselves as modern day Patriotes of 1837.

There is good reason to keep an eye on this bunch of malcontents.

What they are doing now is more than a little disturbing, and smacks of intolerance, totalitarianism, and knocks at the door in the middle of the night.

This fringe group has published the names of people who gave $3000 to the Liberal party; not only names and addresses but sometimes where they work.

They inviting their members to write letters to the donors declaring them targets who must convince the premier to call an inquiry into collusion in the construction industry.

This must be condemned, with conviction, from everyone in this province, no matter what your political point of view.

Our friends in the PQ and Bloc have relatively been silent, and that speaks volumes.

Tuition must rise

How much is enough?

I well remember my days as a university student. It wasn't always easy financially.

Now students are hollering for lower tuition fees, even free education.

Somebody has to pay, and that somebody is me, and you, and everyone else who pays taxes.

For our universities to remain centers of excellence, they need money. They are chronically underfunded.

For students to demonstrate against tuition increases shows a fundamental lack of understanding.

We must ensure that those who need financial help get it.

University graduates make $600,000 more in the lifetime than those who don't get a degree.

These students of higher learning should do the math; think of it as investing in themselves.

There is no free lunch. I'm sure they learn that in first year economics. Or just Google Milton Friedman.

Train service is lacking

We can thank our lucky stars that the AMT is not responsible for scrambling fighter jets in response to an enemy attack. We'd all be sitting ducks.

All we ask to make the trains run, and run on time.

We have heard excuse after excuse from this bunch.

The fact of the matter is that they were not prepared for this week's snowstorm.

Thousands of people were left stranded, jam-packed into Lucien L'allier station, waiting and waiting with very little information coming from the AMT.

In addition passengers tell us they didn't get the text alerts on all the cancellations.

We were told that Monday's delays were a minor problem. Minor?

Then the next day, we were refused a television interview.

The AMT is acting like the Politburo back in the days of Soviet Russia.

They are a public body and have a responsibility to us.

Given the sorry track record of this organization they owe us a better explanation, and need to tell us why it won't happen again.

Don't hold your breath.
