Quebec provincial police say they are satisfied with the state of the search concerning the death of Cedrika Provencher, but have no new details to reveal about the case.

"We're not in a race against the clock. We're being rigourous," said Capt. Guy Lapointe.

Cedrika was nine years old when she disappeared on July 31, 2007 from her home in Trois Rivieres, and last Friday a hunter found her skull in a wooded area 15 km away.

Following a week of intense searching in the area police would not say if they have discovered anything relevant, but that the search will continue.

More than 200 officers have spent the past week combing the woods for more of her remains, or any clue about her disappearance, to no avail.

Hundreds of people have telephoned police with tips, more than 200 in the past week alone.

In 2007 police were concerned about a red Acura and officers have questioned one suspect several times, but never found enough evidence to recommend charges.

"What I can tell you is the red Acura is still an element that we're looking at, it's still a lead that we're following," said Lapointe.

"If anyone has any information about that we'll take it, but I'm not going to go into specific details."
