MONTREAL - Montreal's crumbling bridges are becoming legendary as a national embarrassment.
The Champlain Bridge, the busiest in Canada, is in such a bad state that basic maintenance will cost up to $25 million each year.
The MP for Brossard La Prairie, Hoang Mai of the NDP, is demanding the bridge be replaced.
"The reports came out last March saying we have to get a new bridge. It's a matter of public safety," said Mai in an interview with Todd van der Heyden.
