The Jewish General Hospital told ambulances and emergency patients to stay away on Thursday afternoon.
The computer server room overheated Thursday morning and it caused problems for many departments.
The blood test centre was closed, and appointments for elective scans, such as X-rays and CT scans, were cancelled. With the systems finally repaired those cancelled appointments are now being rescheduled.
All emergency X-rays were being performed despite the equipment failure.
