Two fires caused lane closures on the Champlain Bridge on Saturday.

The fires were caused by faulty propane tanks at a nearby work site. They occurred early morning and again mid-afternoon.

All lanes were re-opened again by 5pm.

The bridge was closed completely for nearly two hours in the morning. The second fire caused the closure of two northbound lanes for another few hours.

Both fires were caused by defective propane tanks which were being used to heat concrete.
