Major maintenance work is set to begin on the Bonaventure Expressway Sunday night, and it will continue until the end of October.
The expressway was built in 1966 and requires "a major facelift", according to Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated.
The overhaul will include rehabilitation work on the deck, piers and concrete beams, as well as the replacement of the roadway expansion joints and the pavement.
The Montreal-bound lanes of the expressway will shut down Sunday at 10 p.m. and remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday.
