Aleksandra Wozniak will return to playing professional tennis later this month.
The Blainville native has spent a year away from the game after undergoing shoulder surgery in September 2014.
She will play in the Challenger tournament in Winnipeg the week of August 22nd.
Wozniak has faced multiple shoulder problems during her career and in 2013 was limited to playing in just seven tournaments.
Before choosing to have the operation Wozniak failed to qualify for tournaments in Stanford and New Haven, and was eliminated in the first round of the Rogers Cup in Montreal.
Wozniak was ranked 97th in the world when she stopped playing, and is now listed in 696th spot.
Her career high was in 2009 when she was ranked the 21st best player in the world.
