Police are hoping a stabbing victim will be willing to talk after he recovers from surgery.

The 19-year-old man was attacked late Monday night near Edouard Laurin Blvd. and Gohier St., one block from the Cote Vertu metro station.

Police say several people started arguing and fighting around 10:15 p.m. and the scuffle ended with the teenager being stabbed in the chest.

He was rushed to hospital for surgery and is now in stable condition.

Police rushed to the scene after getting a 9-1-1 call but have not been able to find any witnesses willing to talk.

Officers said the victim has had run-ins with the law before.
