A 66-year-old woman is dead after the car she was driving became lodged under a truck on Highway 40 westbound in Pointe Claire Thursday .
Gino Pare of the Surete du Quebec says the collision occurred around 3:20 p.m. just before the St. Jean exit of the highway.
Police say the truck driver pulled over to carry out repairs to his truck, and that is when the woman’s car collided with the back of the truck.
The woman, a Kirkland resident, was alone in the car at the time.
That started a chain reaction crash involving two more cars.
Two people were sent to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Firefighters used the jaws of life to release the woman’s body out of the car.
It appears she was driving a blue sedan.
The St. Jean exit of Highway 40 and one westbound lane on the highway was closed into the evening while police investigators tried to piece together what happened.
