With NHL training camps kicking off on Friday, newly minted Nashville Predator PK Subban won’t be hitting the ice just yet.

The team announced the star defenceman will sit on-ice sessions for the next few days and will not play in the team’s first pre-season game against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.

His injury has been described as soreness in his upper body.

Subban was traded by the Canadiens to the Predators for fellow defenceman Shea Weber in June.

He missed the last 14 games of the Habs’ season with a neck injury.
