Tax authorities have undertaken 23 raids throughout Quebec Wednesday, targeting nine people and companies allegedly behind a tax fraud scam.
Fifteen locations in the Montérégie, the Laurentians and Eastern Townships were raided by 86 investigators and 12 computer experts from Revenu Quebec with the help of eight police forces in what’s dubbed Operation Trolley (Projet Chariot).
The tax authorities plan to examine the seized documents for evidence of fiscal fraud and charges could be laid following the investigation.
