LONGUEUIL - Longueuil Police say they have recovered about half of the money stolen from poker champion Jonathan Duhamel during a December robbery.

On January 6 they received an anonymous tip that the cash had been dropped into a mailbox in Old Longueuil.

Officers rushed to the area and discovered a package containing roughly half of the $115,000 stolen, in the same denominations and currencies.

Duhamel was robbed on Dec. 31, 2011 after being duped by thieves and letting them into his home. They tied him up and pummeled him, then raided his safe and made off with the cash, along with some jewelry.

His watch was quickly recovered, but his World Series of Poker championship bracelet is still missing.

Four people, including Duhamel's ex-girlfriend Bianca Rojas-Latraverse, are facing various charges in connection with the crime, including conspiracy, break and enter, assault, and kidnapping.

She was denied bail as was John Stephen Clark Lemay, while Anthony Bourque and André-Robert Perron were released for the duration of the trial.

The preliminary hearing for the accused is scheduled to begin on Feb. 21.
