BELOEIL - The pilot and a passenger of a small aircraft suffered injuries after their plane was struck by a truck while attempting an emergency landing on Highway 20 westbound near Beloeil around noon Saturday.
The pilot and passenger's injuries are unknown but not considered life-threatening. The plane was seriously damaged.
The accident occurred when the plane’s wing was jammed in a space near back wheels of the truck after landing on the highway.
The truck driver was unharmed and his vehicle suffered little damage.
It was not immediately known why the pilot landed on the highway rather than the nearby landing strip in Beloeil, 35 kilometers southeast of Montreal.
