An 81-year-old man is in critical but stable condition after being struck by a car while crossing the road in Cote des Neiges.

The accident took place around 12:20 p.m. Monday on Queen Mary Rd. near Westbury Ave.

The man was crossing north on Queen Mary when he was struck by a black sedan, driven by a 26-year-old woman.

She was treated for shock.

Police are looking at speed as a possible factor in the accident.

Pedestrians in the area expressed concerned with drivers’ speed in the area and also with the amount of time they have to cross the street at the intersection.

That is almost the same location where a 70-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run earlier this month.

Police are still looking for the male driver in that incident. They recently released video that shows the man getting out of his car to check for damage, discovering the body on the road and driving away afterwards.

An anonymous donor is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest that suspect.
