Perhaps the biggest-ever tragedy in modern sports took place just over a year ago when the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv team was wiped out in a plane crash which killed 43 of its 45 passengers.
Tal Pinchevsky describes the event as an “unprecedented tragedy.”
The team has rebuilt, he notes, and is in second place in its conference.
