A 35-year-old man from Candiac has died after crashing his motorcycle in Brossard.

The man was riding a Suzuki Hayabusa, one of the fastest motorcycles in production, when he apparently lost control at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday and went off the road.

The motorcycle came to a stop next to a lamp post on Provencher Blvd. near Place Valiquette.

The rider was taken to hospital with serious head wounds and died of his injuries overnight.

Police say they believe the rider was driving above the speed limit.
